Legend Of Mana Cheats and Hints

Alter the names of items:
On the menu screen, go into the equip menu. Choose the item of your choice, choose the status of the item, and press X twice on the item. A name creation screen will become visible, and you can enter the name for the item.

Monster eggs:
Always look for monster eggs in the boss levels. There is almost always one here ! Also if you can't find a monster egg in a given battle area, then leave and return. Keep doing this until you get a monster egg. When you do get a monster egg, remember the spots where the monster egg usually comes, and place food there. But remember that you can only have a max of 5 pieces of food placed at a time

Monster Egg locations:
Beast Egg - Lake Kilma
Plant Egg - Jungle (boss area)
Demon Egg - Jungle (Forest of Faeries, boss area)
Aquatic Egg - Madora Beach (east end), or SS Buccaneer (basement)
Oddity Egg - Mekiv Caverns
Aerial Egg - Lyon Highway (boss area)
Poltergeist Egg - Tower of Lieres (top floor, boss area)
Undead Egg - Bone Fortress (top floor, boss area)
Dragon Egg - Feig Snowfields (near Garden of Icicle Flowers and boss area)

Sometimes, you can determine the exact type of monster contained in a monster egg by its HP and attack power. For example...
- "Kid Dragons" have 40 HP.
- "Sky Dragons" have 68 HP and 13 attack power.
- "Land Dragons" have 68 HP and 15 attack power.

Dragons:
Dragons are valuable, especially after hatching. The asking price for a Kid Dragon is 500 Luc; the asking price for Sky and Land Dragons is about 5,000.

Forging:
Forging elemental coins, mana stones, and/or mana crystals into a weapon repeatedly will give it elemental properties. For example, forging a Jinn coin or Wind Stone into a weapon will make it very effective against Aquatic monsters, but much less effective against Aerial monsters.

Use characters from other saved games:
After you have unlocked Geo, you can go to Kristies palace. In the basement there is a battle arena where you can summon people off of your other saved games. Then leave the arena now you can have fun with your other character

The Fastest Wheel:
Go to the empty house in the center of Domina. Take a look at the saved files on the memory card with the current information for your main character. Select a saved file from Chocobo Racing and go to Polpota Harbor to meet Skippie. He'll give you this ring/bracelet. You have to finish Catchin' Lilipeas before you can do this.

Really Strong Sword:
Go to the empty house in the center of Domina. Take a look at the saved files on the memory card with the current information for your main character. Select a saved file from SaGa Frontier II and go to the Bone Fortress and head to the Ribcage Hallway. Defeat Deathbringer II to get the strongest sword from SaGa Frontier II.

Chocobo:
Go to the empty house in the center of Domina. Take a look at the saved files on the memory card with the current information for your main character. Select a saved file from Final Fantasy VIII. Head to the outskirts of town to catch the monster egg. It should be a chocobo. Chocobos are the strongest monsters in the game.

Landbopper Mini-Game:
Place nine lands so that you fill the entire screen with them. When you see all of them, hold L1 for about five seconds to start a mini-game.

Shadow-Zero Mini-Game:
Go to the bar in Domina on Salamander Day after finishing The Teardrop Stone. Talk to the Shadow-Zero there to start a mini-game.

Finding the Mana Spirits:
The usual place you would find a mana spirit is in a secluded area (a boss area or an area with a dead end). Sometimes if you enter the area a monster or something else will appear. Keep exiting and entering until the music stops and either a spirit or an egg will appear.

Easy XP:
One effective, but greedy way to level up is to take all the XP crystals for yourself. The other party members don't seem to want to get them anyway, so might as well take them rather for them to disappear. I was able to build my character up to LV.70 with 1000 HP at around the middle of the game. Your other party members might be weak, but its not like they stay with you throughout the whole game, so it doesn't really matter.

Keep Character After Game is Over:
When you have finished the game, wait for all the credits to roll and the game to say "Fin". After that, the game will display the Final Save Point (like in Front Mission 3, it is from the same company) and you should save your game. If you load the game you saved from the last save point, you will repeat the game with ALL your items and weapons. Your character will also be the same level and you will still have all your Special Techniques.

The Fastest Wheel Bracelet:
Go to Domina and to the empty house at the center of town. Look at your saved files on your memory card with the current information for your main character. Highlight a saved file from Chocobo Racing and exit the screen. Go to Polpota Harbor to meet Skippie (The skinny fast guy) .He'll give you this ring/bracelet. Note: You must have finished the Catchin' Lilipeas quest.

Shadow Zero Mini-Game:
After completing The Teardrop Stone quest, go to the bar in Domina on a Salamander Day. Talk to the Shadow Zero there to start this game.

Powerful Sword From SaGa Frontier II (Must have a SaGa Frontier II Save):
Go to Domina and to the empty house in the center of town. Look at your saved files on the memory card with the current information for your main character. Highlight a saved file from SaGa Frontier II and then head to the Bone Fortress and go to the Ribcage Hallway. Talk to the skeletons to do battle with Deathbringer II. Defeat him to get the strongest sword from SaGa Frontier II.

Quick Luc:
Some enemies drop worthy items. The dragons in the Bone Fortress drop Dragon Steaks which sell for 1000 Luc. Polter Boxes in the SS Buccaneer drop valuable stuff too. Try to find out other places where you can get quick cash. (The Mad Mallards give away lots of money). This is very useful to know when it is time to build golems.

Landbopper Mini-Game:
Place nine locations on the map so that the whole screen is full of them. Put them all into view and hold L1 for about five seconds to start the Landbopper mini-game. The game is kinda like Whack-a-Mole. Have fun!
